Whether you are moving to an entirely different part of the country or moving into a new residence in the same city, the packing and moving process can be overwhelming. Unfortunately, packing up your children's toys is even more stressful due to the smaller parts and pieces. While challenging, there are ways to reduce the stress of packing up toys safely before the move. Using these ideas, you can pack and move toys in a safe, efficient manner.

Bundle

Your children most likely have piles and piles of smaller toys that can be complicated to pack. Thankfully, bundling these smaller toys with similar pieces will ensure the task does not take up the majority of your day.

To get started, place small building bricks together in gallon-sized plastic bags. Be sure to seal the bags, which will reduce the risk of spills. Place the different bags of building bricks together in a moving box.

If you need to pack a large number of toy cars, place them in heavy-duty storage bags before placing in your moving box. Or, pack the toy cars in shoeboxes and seal the lids into place using packing tape.

Before packing dolls and action figures, remove all clothing and accessories and store in a plastic bag. This will prevent the smaller items from getting lost during the move. Pack dolls and their accessories in one box and the action figures in a separate box, since these toys will most likely be moved to separate rooms at your new residence.

You can also bundle all board games together in one large moving box. However, make sure to seal each lid of the game box using packing tape. This will keep the game pieces safe during the move.

Protect

Using small building blocks and bricks to create a larger display is a fun hobby for many children. You may feel the need to take apart each set and bag the pieces before the move, but you can transport the completed sets safely. Considering that the price of larger building sets can range from $60 to $120 or more, you will want to keep the pieces all together.

To pack, wrap the entire set with bubble wrap. The bubble wrap should be secure around the set, but not so tight that the building bricks will become loose.

Utilizing your children's toys as protective cushions is also a smart option. Since most children have multiple stuffed animals in various shapes and sizes, you should use these fluffy toys to your advantage. After packing toys that may break during the move, fill the remaining space of the box with a few stuffed animals.
